Description

The Unclassified Documents Section provides the ability to communicate clinical or administrative documents that are part of the patient’s chart but that have not been identified as a particular type of document. This section is designed to enable the communication of documents attached to the patient’s chart in the source system without any codification of their type (e.g. laboratory, advanced directive, diagnostic report, and discharge summaries). This section should explicitly NOT be used as a catchall for document attachments that would more appropriately be communicated in the relevant section of the specification. Any meta-data about the document attachment should be communicated with the document.
