| Description |
The Secondary Code (Drug) template is a generic template that is referenced by various
section or entry to enable the consistent communication of a secondary code is required
for a drug. Whilst the specification has identified the DIN as the primary coding
system to be used when identifying drugs, it recognizes that there are several other
available coding systems that may be used to identify a drug that may be more clinically
appropriate. Consequently the specification supports additional identifiers to
be attached to the record using the alternate coding systems.
