Template  BC Specimen Collection Procedure

For Lab results, the effective time of the result is the physiological time of the specimen being tested. In other words, the result is a measurement of a characteristic of a specimen at the time the specimen was obtained/collected. Most electronic laboratory result systems will include the observation date/time (HL7 2.x OBR-7) in the result message and this information should be maintained as part of the clinically relevant meta-data attached to the result record.
