Description
This Medication Dispense Event template defines the structure and format rules for
each dispensing event that occurs against a medication order or prescription. This
template will repeat for each dispense issued for the Prescription identified in the
Prescription Event template. This template includes all the information that may be
communicated as part of a dispensing event including the specific DIN Code for the
product dispensed.
This Medication Dispense Event template includes the identification of the Dispense
Event and would repeat for each dispense issued for the Prescription identified in
the Prescription Event Section. This template includes all the information that may
be communicated as part of a dispensing event including the specific DIN Code for
the product dispensed.
This template is primarily relevant to use cases 2 (Provider Dispensed) and 3 (Provider
Administered); however, it may also be populated if the dispensing organization has
submitted the information to the EMR.
Context
Parent nodes of template element with id 2.16.840.1.113883.3.1818.10.4.7
SHALL be the identifier assigned to the dispense by the Pharmanet system for senders
who are connected and for dispenses that have been sent to or originated from Pharmanet;
sending systems that are not connected to Pharmanet SHALL send an internal record
identifier. In either case the applicable Assigning Authority SHALL be sent [CONF:1514.42].
